Mänttä and Vilppula are located in the beautiful Finnish lake and forest landscape, halfway between Tampere (route 58) and Jyväskylä (route 58, 23), an hour´s drive from both cities.
The railway goes through the region: Tampere - Vilppula - Haapamäki.It is only 7 km from the Vilppula railway station to Mänttä. By coach you can reach Mänttä and Vilppula in approximately one hour from Tampere and in an hour and a half from Jyväskylä. There are several coaches daily between Mänttä and Vilppula.

By Serlachius bus from the train to the museums and Mänttä

Serlachius bus transports visitors in Mänttä starting from 24.1.2015 during weekends also winter time. The bus offers a connection to Vilppula railway station. Anyone can hop on the bus. Ticket costs 3 € and is valid for travelling around Mänttä for one whole day. The bus operator is Mäntän Tilausliikenne Oy. In summertime the bus runs daily.
